Kristin grew up in Flower Mound, Texas attending public school from K-12.  Her mom is a retired public school teacher, so Kristin learned from her mom the joys and sacrifices of being in the teaching profession.  Kristin attended Georgia Tech and graduated with a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering.

After college Kristin and her husband Jason moved to California for Kristin's engineering job at Clorox.  She spent almost 15 years working in various R&D and product supply roles in Clorox before taking time off in 2015 to focus on her family.  Prior to having children, Kristin volunteered at a nursing home, with the Alameda County library and the Start with a Story program and the Tri-Valley Haven.  She also started the Bundles of Joy program with Axis healthcare making bags of baby items for women in need in the Tri-Valley.

After having children, Kristin's volunteer focus shifted to her kids.  She served on the board at her children's preschool and has volunteered regularly in her children's classrooms.  She has served as room parent, PFC board member and Site Council chair.  She led the Jaws-a-Thon fundraiser for Dublin El for 5 years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the school.  She also led the school's run club for 4 years.

In 2020, seeing the need for advanced math programming for her own son, she started the Math Olympiad team for Dublin Elementary.  Her team successfully finished in the top 10% of schools in their first year.  In her second year coaching the team, she also organized a tournament for the Tri-Valley allowing over 150 4th and 5th grade students to participate in a morning of advanced math fun.

In 2021, Kristin took a roll on the executive board of the Wells Middle School band. She was responsible for the organization and fitting of the band uniforms.  In the spring Kristin served as a volunteer track coach with the Wells track team.

Kristin serves as the computer chair on the Briarhill swim team.  She was a softball coach for a Phantom girls team for two years in 2019 and 2020.

Kristin spent 6 months subbing in classrooms at Dublin Elementary, Wells and Dublin High.  She also spent two months working at Dublin High as a Gael tutor.  These valuable work experiences helped her to understand some of the roles in our district and the inner workings of some of our schools.  Ultimately she returned to a data engineering job in January 2022 at Clorox and enjoys the balance of a work from home job.

Kristin and Jason's two kids both attended Dublin Elementary and are now Wells Roadrunners in 6th and 8th grade.
